(Hotels) New Forest England Travel Travel to the New Forest
By Joseph Carducci
The New Forest is one of England’s most fascinating and scenic places. It is full of beauty and wonderful scenery.
What is the New Forest?
The New Forest is one of England’s oldest medieval forests, and a British National Park. It encompasses an area of 150 square miles, including ancient woodlands, heathlands and valleys. There is a wide variety of scenery and landscapes which change from season to season.
You can explore quaint little villages such as Lyndhurst, Brokenhurst, or Ringwood.
There are a large number of attractions and sites to explore in this park. You can see many different types of wildlife, from horses to otters and owls. It is also a world-renowned area for bird watching. There are zoos, museums (lots of museums!), gardens, castles, parks, even vineyards. There is truly something for every taste and fashion in the beautiful New Forest National Park.
Brief History
It is now known that settlers in the New Forest area can be traced back to the Bronze Age. The area was the site of heavy farming, which involved cutting through the woodland. This is also the main reason why you can see heavy woodlands on one side of the road and then it ends abruptly and turns into a heathland totally devoid of trees on the other side!
It is believed that William the Conqueror actually created the New Forest in the 10th century as a protected area for Royal Hunting.
After heavy shipbuilding in the region throughout the 17th century put severe pressure on the health of the woodlands, the New Forest Act was passed in 1877 to preserve and protect the area. Finally, in 2005, the New Forest was elevated to the status of a National Park, which has also increased the number of tourists who visit this fantastic place every year.
Located between Southampton and Christchurch in the south, west of London it is easy to find the New Forest. However, since it has the status of National Park, there are no airports or rail stations that will take you directly to the most picturesque areas of the park. If you wish to come by train, probably the best location is Brokenhurst. You can reach this town very easily from London, Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth. By car, it is Junction 1 off M-27. The closest nearby airports would probably by in Southampton and Bournemouth.
Once you are here, enjoy! Whether your pleasure is horseback riding, cycling, walking or hiking there is something for you here! I have thoroughly enjoyed all my time in this area and look forward to returning. It is equally as beautiful in the summer with all of it’s greenery as it is in the winter beneath a blanket of freshly fallen snow. Enjoy!

Medical Tourism - The New Buzz Words!
By Ron Subs
Have you heard about medical tourism? Is a fast growing trend among citizens of the U.S. Patients are vacationing in exotic places while recovering from cosmetic surgeries and other treatments. Medical Tourism is becoming increasingly popular, because by traveling to other countries, patients can not only get procedures that are not available in their home countries, they can get most any surgery much cheaper; sometimes as much as 80% less!
The lower cost is due to several factors, one being the exchange rate of the U.S. dollar, another being that the cost of healthcare of any sort is cheaper in foreign countries because the expense of providing quality healthcare is much less. They have considerably lower overhead, so they are able to charge much less than the U.S.
The surgeons that perform the procedures are board certified and many are educated in the U.S. They are specialists that have had many years of training and experience in their trade. Some surgeons are self-employed and operate out of clinics; however, the more elite surgeons are hospital affiliated and perform their services in first class hospital settings.
Some of the cosmetic procedures offered are:
* Tummy Tuck A tummy tuck is the removal excess fat and skin in the abdominal area. This procedure tightens muscles and smoothes out skin to give a soft, youthful look.
* Breast Lift A breast lift is done by removing excess breast skin beneath the areola and reshaping the breast while lifting. The breasts are given a more firm, shapely, and perky look.
* Butt Lift A butt lift is achieved by the surgeon removing fat from a predetermined part of the body, purifying the fat, and injecting it into the upper quadrant of the buttocks. This gives the allusion of the butt being lifted, giving a more curvy and sensual look.
* Eye-lid Surgery Medically called a blepharoplasty, this procedure removes skin, muscle, and fat from the upper and lower lids, giving the eye a less puffy, droopy, and a more youthful look. This surgical method is also used when vision is affected by the excess skin of the eyelids.
* Liposuction Liposuction is the process of inserting a tube under the skin and sucking out fat in the desired area. Great advances have been made in the liposuction technique from the horrors of years past. The procedure is now considered one of the safest cosmetic treatments and is done with little or no pain.
There are many other procedures performed in these foreign surgical centers or hospitals. Many patients that could not afford treatment in the U.S. are now able to travel abroad, have the treatment(s) of their choice, and return home relaxed and looking great!
